¡Hola Familis y amigos!
Well today was changes. I´m writing you from Celaya. Neither elder Cuaxi or I had changes. We did get two new Elders in the area though. It will be a great help for us. The area is so dang big and with us working less and less it will be a blessing. Their names are Elder Vicente and Elder Manning. E. Vicente is from El Salvador and E. Manning is from Utah. That´s about all I know about them right now so I´ll send you more info next week.
Carlos is still doing well. We
had an amazing lesson with him and some members on Sunday. He told us that
he really does want this. He confessed that he had had the lessons 8 years ago but had said no. He says he wishes he had acepted and had joined the church at that moment. We just told him everything is for a reason and that
he is making the right decision. His baptism is still good for Thursday!!!
I´ve been debating on saying this but have felt that I should. I am not doing to well. My back is giving me lots of problems. I am down to working half days due to pain and troubles. I have to take an MRI or a catscan (not sure which cause the translation isn´t easy to translate) and see what is wrong with my back. The doctor has decided that I
probably have a hernia or something more severe like that. They have told me that if we find anything big that I will probably be sent home. I´m telling you all this so that you can keep me in your prayers and thoughts. I´ve had to ask that from you the last few weeks. Sorry about that but I can feel your help. Thanks!
Sorry that the letter was short but I´m almost out of time and still have to write my
mom.
Love you all,
Elder Carter

Hey everyone,
Well we had another week zoom by super fast. I can´t believe it. The big family is still progressing great. They all love to read the Book of Mormon. Even the little kids. We had to ask for a new box of books because they all ended up wanting a copy just for themselves. 9 copies of the Book of Mormon. Impressive. We have given a baptism date to Carlos for the 16th. He has been coming to church with one of the members for about a month and a half now. He never would commit to meeting with us but two
weeks ago in church he told us that he would like to take the lessons. He has just progressed amazingly. He reads every thing. The Book of Mormon, all the Pamphlets, the Gospel Principles Book and the Book of Pres. Snow for Priesthood. It´s amazing. We taught him the plan of Salvation yesturday. Super easy because we had told he that would be the topic. He had studied all he
could in the pamphlet, Book of Mormon and the Gospel Principlies book about the Plan of Salvation. It was a lesson really special. When we talk about Life on earth we teach that all need to have faith in Christ, Repent, be Baptized, recieve the Holy Ghost and Endure to the End in the earth in order to recieve the highest level of glory after death. When we got to talking about the Celestial Kingdom and taught about how it is the highest level of Glory, is where God and Christ are, where we can be together as families forever, etc, etc he started saying how he wanted to go there. He then asked if he needed to be baptized to enter there. We told him yes. He just sat there in silience for a few minutes. We just sat there quite and let the spirit do the work. He started to cry a little. Elder Cuaxi then challenge him to follow the Example of Christ and to make the steps that he needed to to enter into this kindgom. Carlos acepted asking "when". It was really great!
Well we are doing fairly good here. Lots of work to do and we are doing it. The ward like always is helping a ton. It´s been great. The members are starting to pick up that we are injured and are giving more rides. It´s been great. :) They are really great people. I really hope I don´t have changes in a week.
Well tomorrow is Zone Conference. I´m super excited. Pres. del Valle has been sending us a lot of info on what to study, bring and it sounds super exciting. I´m super pumped.
Well a report on my back for those who are wondering. It´s just about the same as last week. Not really any better but not worst. It is causing some problems with being able to work at 100% power but hey I´m pushing forward. We´ll see how things go. I´m doing alright and I´m still giving all that I can and even with the dificulties, I´m still loving things.
Well ya my hour is up. I just want you all to know that I love you all. I am really grateful for all your support and prayers. I´m really feeling them in this moment. It´s been a rough few weeks but I´m pushing through and I can feel your help in this.
Love you all tons!

Hello everyone!
So it`s been an interesting week. Lets just leave it at that. We`ve had a little of everything.
Wed. I went to get my visa worked out. Just about got thrown in Federal Prison here in Mexico. I had to sign like 100 papers and take new pictures, new finger prints and then have an interview. The secretary over the visas and stuff is new. He didn`t know something super important. When they ask where you live, you give them the mission offices address because that is what is on all of the paper work. So I`m in this interview with Elder Medina(The secretary) and all is going well. She then asks me where I live. I told the Lady that I lived in Celaya. All of a sudden she flies out of her seat
and starts yelling at me. I couldn`t understand anything of what she was yelling at me. Just bits and pieces of stuff like: LIAR!, ...Going to Federal Prison!!!, you live in Leon!!!, etc, etc. I looked over at Elder Medina and he is pointing at a paper with the Address of the offices. I then pulled the biggest lie out of my bum. I told her I was a bit confused on the question. But that yes indeed I lived in Leon but we get sent out to different areas to help the church for a week or two and that I was in Celaya for a short time but would be back in Leon in a few days. Well...it worked. She finnaly calmed down and signed the papers, they printed my visa out and ya...all is well. I`m good to go. It really scared me out. Elder Medina then told me all that the lady had said and it was really good that I came up with the story because they could
have thrown me and him in prison for quite some time. Fun hugh?
I had my doctors appointment on Friday. I have scoliosis. My spine has a super big curve to it. He has given me drugs that are suppose to help relax the nerves to permit me spine to realign and I have to get a insert for my right
shoe. I also have a physical therapy session every 4 days. I will see him again in a month to see how things are progressing. My back hurts quite a bit. I can`t lift anything heavy or I about die. Our bus the other day hit a big bump and I really basically started crying in the bus and I just had to sit on a bench when we got off for a min. to get going again. It`s super frustrating because it is really limiting my work ability. It is something that if you have before the mission they don`t let you come out until it is fixed. Hna. del Valle said that she would be talking to the Doctor over the mission to see what he thinks I should do. She said that another elder had this problem and stayed so hopefully I can do the same. Keep my back in your prayers. Other then this my body is fully healed from the other battles so I`m good in that way.
This big family is progressing really well. We will be giving them a date tomorrow. Jesus fell of the planet. We can`t find him. He isn`t home and doesn`t answer his phone. We really don`t know what happend. The references are going well. We have some new investigators and I will tell you if they are good or not next week.
Mother`s Day is coming up. Mom...I have between the 10th and 13th to Call or Skype. :) What day and what
way would you like to do the call? I`m almost positive you will say Skype. Let me know what day and time and I`ll be there. Our church Sunday is 9-12 and then we have a meeting. Sunday anytime between 3 pm and 7pm your time will work out. Let me know!
Things are going well here. I`m loving everything even with all the challenges I`m facing right now. I`m out of time. We had a big Zone activity and it didn`t leave much time. I`ll write everyone personally next week. Sorry to friends and family that I haven`t responded back to yet. I promise that I`m trying. Oh Congradulate Drew on your call and for going through
the temple!
Well love you all lots!

Well hello to everyone back at home.
This week was a fairly good week full of lessons, investigators and then no one showing up to church. It was all
fairly disappointing. Oh well. I guess that´s part of the missionary life right. :)
Jesus just plain didn´t show up yesturday. We taught him 3 times during the week and he was progressing really
well. He is excited for his baptism and was really excited to go to church again. We are not sure why he didn´t come. We will be visiting him tomorrow and we hope all is well. If things are good we will be putting a new Baptism date for the next week.
We got a reference for a big family so we went to visit them. Turns out that it is a family of 9. There are 7 who are above the age of 8. They are open to the idea of baptism and seem pretty cool. We only visited them Saturday so
we weren´t very sure if they would come to church. We are going to give them a baptism date and see how things go. It was really cool to report 7 news in one day. I think my Zone Leader fell out of his chair when he heard it. The norm
for the week is 10 news. This week we had 10. 7 in one day. :)
I´m super excited for May. We will be having a Zone Conference and a special meeting on the 23rd. All of the mission will be getting together in Aguascalientes to have a goodby mission party. Elder de Hoyas of the 70 and Elder D. Todd Christoferson will be coming to talk to us too. It sounds pretty cool. Lots of spiritual things will be happening in May. Super Excited!
My health is going well. My hand is fully back in shape, still doing therapy but ya it works perfectly now. My back is feeling much better. I go to the doctor on Friday to take X-Rays and see what more I need to do if anything. So yep, all is well. Elder Cuaxi seems to be doing better. The doctor still is saying that he should go home. For now Sister del Valle has told us to not walk a lot and be smart about what we do. She is talking to the Medical Advisor over the mission but for now nothing is happening. Keep him in your prayers still.
I´m going to Leon on Wed. I guess my visa has some problems. Elder Groves who came with us to Mexico is having issue too. We are going to go and see what we can do. The Secretary isn´t sure if we will need to go home for a time to renew visas or not. Keep our visas in your prayers too. I don´t quite want to go home yet. ;)
Well ya all is going well here in Mexico. I´m still loving every minute that I´m here. I´m loving this area and
ward more and more everyday. That means that I´ve got transfers in 3 weeks. :P I really hope not.
I´m missing you all so much. I know that I´m serving the Lord and I´m where I need to be.
Here´s loving you all!

Helllloooooooo everyone!
Baptism Report: Haha I know that I haven´t put one of these in my letter for quite some time. We have a baptisimal
date for the 27th. Jesus is the investigator. The other missionaries contacted him in the street. He was born in Chicago and goes back and forth visiting his family here for a year or two and then back to Chicago for a year or two. His last time in Chicago he started taking the lessons from the elders there. Went to church a few times and then came back antes they could baptize him. He lost contact with the church...until the missionaries here found him. We visited him on Saturday and we had the best lesson ever. He was so happy to have found the church again. He easily acepted the challenge to read the Book of Mormon and then pray and go to church the next day. He then acepted his baptism date. He came to church on Sunday and had a good experience. We talked to him afterwards and he said he had read and had an answer that the church was true and said he is super excited to be baptized! It´s like he just fell out of the sky. It´s
amazing. I´m so excited and super stoked!
This week went well. Lots of work and lots of sucess. We are both feeling better and everything is going well. The members are really helping a lot. Having an investigator in the church who they then learned had a date really helped out. They are excited too. It´s going to be the first baptism in like 6 months here. Hope all goes well.
I´ve gotten into reading the New Testament this week. It´s really great. I am learning so much from it. I have decided that I really enjoy the teaching of the 12 Apostles after Christ´s death. They really taught with power and well I just love it. :)
Well my times up. I hope all is going well here. We really are doing well here. All is well in Mexico.
Love you all!

Hi everyone!
So I went to the doctor again today and he told me that my pointer finger is alright so now I´ve got two hands again...well somewhat. I should have full use of my ring finger in a week or two and next week I´ll start therapy on my middle finger. Don´t really know what therapy for a finger is but hey I´m going to do it. :) Broken fingers
really aren´t fun. It´s hard to do a lot of things without half a hand. I´ve had to tie my ties a completley different way and I don´t like how it looks but it´s the only way I can do it.
Hey my companion Elder Cuaxi isn´t doing so great right now. He had a bad injury in his knee playing Football, yes
american football like two years ago. He´s always had some problems with it but lately it has been bugging him lots. We went to the doctor and it looks like he might have torn ligaments in his knee and need an operation. He is pretty worried about everything and so I´m asking that you´all keep him in your prayers. For those of you who said they put me on prayer roles in the temple you can put him on them too. Mahonri Cuaxi.
Things went well this week. We found some new people and we are having lots of help from the ward. It really helped
lift my spirit from last week. We didn´t have changes here in Tecnologico. Elder Cuaxi and I are here for another 6 weeks. Ya baby! We are really starting to get things going here so I´m glad I at least get another change here.
I don´t know if any of you have seen it yet but there is a new video posted on lds.org about the Savior and it is pretty cool if you want to see it. We were told to use it in lessons with Easter and stuff and it is really cool and has helped in a few situations. Also I know I challenged everyone to make a mormon.org profile. We have really been using that lately and I´d love to have family that I could show to people. And I´m sure it could be help to someone who is checking the
church out by mormon.org.
Well to tell you the truth I´m not quite sure what more to write this week and I´m almost out of time. I want you all to know that I´m doing well and that I know the Church is True. I hope all is going well and that everyone is in good health.
With all my love,
Elder Carter
March 25, 2013 - BROKEN FINGERS
Hi everyone!
Well like you just read in the subject line, I have three broken fingers. Story time. We were getting in a Taxi to go play soccer
with the zone this morning.. I was getting in and had my hand grabbing the roof of the car where the door shuts and my companion thought he would be nice and shut the door for me. The taxis here are a bit old so you have to slam the doors so that is what he did. My first 3 fingers on my right hand are broken. My middle finger is the worst. It was bent backwards. The doctor took x-rays and said that they will heal alright in a few weeks. For right now I`ve got supports between the fingers and my hand is all rapped up. It take forever to type one handed with your left hand by the way. We spent almost all the day in the hospital
today. Fun times! Not!
Sorry about last week and the emails. I was in the internet, had written President, like two friends, Uncle David and then the internet went out. We had an appointment and didn`t have enough time to go to the other internet cafe that is like 15 mins from the house. Sorry! This week you will only be getting a combined letter because of my hand and because I`m super drugged up on pain meds. I think the doctor told me wrong cause I feel a bit drugged. I`ll be taking one pill and
not two from now on. :)
Responding to some questions from last week. The visa stuff went well. I`l be staying here. My ingrown toenails were taken out. That hurt alot. Only for a moment but wow that killed. The Zone Leaders wanted me to contact the Doctor because she was apparently an old investigator but when she started digging into my toes I lost all thoughts and desires to contact her. My thoughts just turned into pain.
We have not gotten any new missionaries yet. The new come on transfer days and that day is next Monday. I don`t think my comp or I will have changes. We really aren`t expecting many news until the mission splits in July.
This week was a bit hard for me. As you all know the last bapitsm I had was the 5th on November. We`ve been battling pretty hard to get there again. In the past few months we really didn`t have much. Thelast few weeks we`ve had a few progressing really well and I was starting to get excited and was really glad for their progress. This week the 3 that acepted baptism dates the week before told us no. The one had her husband and priest threaten her and the other two were teens that had their parents say no. I was so sure that we had them and then out of the blue no. I was pretty disapointed. I am pretty disappointed. It was a bit hard to get so close and have it all ripped away. I guess we`ll keep on working and trying.
Before I forget I want to send a shout out to Arianne. Happy Birthday!!! Sorry it is a few days late. I hope the mission is going
well. I`ll try to send you a note here soon.
Brendon. Jake`s email is [email protected]
Randy, Rachel, Aunt Vikie...I`ll get a letter sent out to you in the next week or two. Well things are going ok. A bit beaten up right now but all is well. We are working hard and the ward is getting animated. We`ve had quite a few references. Lets just hope that they will be home the next time we try to visit them. :)
Well I love you all lots. I`ve used up just about all of my time writing one handed and still need to write Presidente del Valle.
Adios,
Elder Carter

March 11, 2013- Wow...Changes in Celaya
Hey everyone! Well yesterday I was relieved as District Leader. Then I was made District Leader again ,but of a new district.
Before yesterday there were two districts here in Celaya, but there are now three. I don´t have anyone other then Elder Cuaxi from my old district. I´m now in the same district as the Zone Leaders and an other pair of missionaries. There are only the three companionships. It was a weird change. President del Valle just called us up randomly when we when in the Leader Meeting last night and told us. It was all random. We are suppose to start getting more missionaries here in Celaya soon. Apparently it´s the Zone with the least amount of missionaries so when all the new missionaries start coming we will be getting them first. Cool huh?!
Well the week went great. We contacted quite a few referrences and have many more coming. The Stake President came to
Ward Conference and really animated everyone to work with us and get their bottoms in gear. It was really great. It worked and everyone seems really excited to work. He also promised that if they did work hard and got the assistance number up to 120 every week the church would put a new building in our area. The building we go to is quite far away from our area and it´s a big problem for the members so this was great news for them.
We have an investigator named Alejandra. She is progressing really well. We are going to put out a baptism date tomorrow. If you can pray for her and her husband that would be great. He listened in the last lesson and I think he is pretty interested. I can´t for the sake of me remember his name right now so just pray for him. :)
Elder Cuaxi and I are still doing great. We make a pretty good team. I´m enjoying working with him and all is going well. I´m going to León tomorrow night and Wed. morning to do stuff for my visa. The new laws here are pretty dang strict. A few elders have had to go home for a month or two to renew visas because their signature wasn´t a perfect match to their passport or the papers got crinkled in the process. Please pray that all goes well. I´m sure all will be well. We are also going to a conference in
Irapuato on Thursday to listen to Elder Ortiz of the Seventy. I´m sure that will be great. I think he is part of the Area Presidency.
I don´t really have any funny stories this week. It was uneventful in that respect. We did watch a car get smashed by the train the other day. The guy walked away from his VW Beetle with only scratches. He was really lucky. I went running over to help and he just hopped out of his car and was perfectly fine. His Beetle was completly trashed. It was a big miracle.
Well all is well here in Celaya, Mexico. I hope all is going well there. I love you all lots and am really grateful for your support!
Love,
Elder Carter

March 4, 2013- Working Hard
Well we`ve had a great week of lots of work. How was your week? We realized that none of our investigators were progressing and sadly had to drop them. Breaks my heart everytime. I made really good records of them in the area book and have the hope that some Elder in the future will be able to help them out and get them baptized. We just focused on visiting everyone and getting
references. We weren`t getting many. We then watched a video from the Preach My Gospel videos and one talks about finding new through references. President Monson starts off by giving us a few different questions we can use like "Do you know someone who has recently had a death in the family?" "Do you know someone who recently had a child?" "Anyone who has problems with the teenage children?" etc, etc. We decided to start using them and wow....we got a starling 1 reference. Hahaha you were thinking I would say more!!! ;) We actually did get more. We got like 10. Everyone thought of someone and said that they would talk to them, set up family home evening lessons and stuff to help us out. It was really cool to see that the President and Prophet really does get revelation and can lead and guide us in the ways of the Lord. We got a few new leads during the week
and will have a bunch more this week.
So funny story. We (Elder Evans and I were on divisions Saturday) were walking down a street and out of nowhere pulls up a truck and this guy jumps out of his car. He runs up and asks if we are Mormon missionaries. We tell him yes. He goes running back to his truck and comes back with a baby about 2 years old and a duffel bag. He starts explaining a story about how they were baptized in Alabama and how his mom has health problems so they came back to Celaya. They got in some kind of trouble and were super panicked and thought the baby wasn`t safe. He then puts the baby in Elder Evans hands and tells us that he had talked to the Bishop from Alabama and he told him to find American elders here and have them take the baby across the
border and bring the baby to him and he and his family would take care of the baby. He told us the baby was born in the states and is American, show us the papers and then says thanks. He starts getting in the truck with his wife to leave and we are all freaked out. I open the door and PULL him out while trying to tell him we couldn`t take the baby to the states. His wife and him start begging us. She is crying, he is all freaked out, Elder Evans is holding the baby and I`m just completly confused on what all is going on. The bishop happened to pass by as I was pulling this guy out of a truck and thought to himself "Why is Elder Carter pulling a guy out of a truck and why is the other Elder holding a baby?" He stopped and got out and starting questioning what was
going on. The guys answers weren`t very good and out of the blue he takes the baby back and hops in the truck and goes zooming off. I`m still not all that sure what happened. Just know that they were pretty freaked out and wanted us to take their baby across the border. Weird huh?
Truth be told thats really all about my week. It was fairly uneventful. Lots of lessons with members and asking for references. I really am just not thinking of anything to write so ya....sorry but you are getting a pretty lame letter today.
Hope everyone is doing well. I`d really like to hear from people. Like COUSINS, AUNTS; UNCLES; FRIENDS so what
I`m saying is to all that are reading this letter here is my email. [email protected]. You can also get my address from my family, my facebook account or older letters and send me a letter. THANKS!
Well all is well here! Love you all!

February 25, 2013- WOW! What news!
Hello everyone! This letter is basically about the mission changes that are going on and at the end I`m going to challenge you all to be better Member Missionaries. Hahaha!
Well as you have heard there are like 58 new missions worldwide, 8 being in Mexico. All of you guessed that one would have part of the bottom of my mission. That was partially right. The Mission Mexico León will not be around after July. They are splitting the mission in half. There will be two new missions where my mission is. The two new missions are Mission Mexico Aguascaliente and Mission Mexico Querétaro. They are splitting the mission into a North part and South part. Mission Aguascalientes will have
Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosi, Matehuala, all the surrounding areas and will be taking Zacateces from the Mission Torreon. Mission Querétaro will have the City of Querétaro(Was part of the Mexico City North Mission), Celaya, León, Guanajuatro, Irapuato and the surrounding areas.
This split and loss of the Mission León is good. It means that there has been a lot of progress in this area. It will now give the areas more missionaries that we`ve needed. More of God`s work will be done, more people will be blest and we will all see many more miracles.
I can`t remember if I`ve told you this before but right now there are like 60,000 missionaries. By July they expect 77,000 missionaries to be serving. By December the numbers look like there will be somewhere around 102,000 missionaries serving. What a miracle right?! Things are looking good for the lord. This is why there are so many Missions that are opening. Presidente del Valle told us that we will probably see new areas open in the world that have never seen missionaries in the next few years.
To tell you the truth the news of the new missions was an answer to feelings and promptings I had. When I came to Celaya I passed through Querétaro. I didn`t know what City it was only that it looked really nice, big and that I felt like I was needed there and that I need to help someone there. I got to Celaya and asked what that City was and they told me Querétaro and that it wasn`t in our mission. I got super disappointed and didn`t know what to do. When I heard the changes I actually started to cry. The
spirit was that strong. We don`t know what missions we will be serving in yet, it depends on if we are in one of the Cities that belongs to one of the new missions when the change/transfer gets over the last week of June. I have a fairly good feeling I will be part of Mission Querétaro.
A little about my new companion. His name is Elder Cuaxi and he is from Chaipas. It`s the Southern part of Mexico. He is 19 and has 6 months in the mission. He is pretty cool. He loves to play Chess so we`ve been battling it out in the nights. We are a pretty good team. We teach well and are good help to the other. He doesn`t know like anything in English. I`ve been blessed with elders
that have at least been good at understanding it but with him no. I`ll have to teach him to help out his future companions. I`m excited to be with him. We had a pretty great week. We battled a little with our little knowledge of the area but we are doing ok. We are both in great health and are excited to work.
So I`d like to share my testimony with all of you. The world is a big mess right now but I have learned that the gospel can at the least give us peace and comfort and guidance through all. The Lord is there for us. He wants to give us all that we need to get back to him. He really does. He wants the help everyone who has chosen other paths. He wants to help all that have sinned. He wants to help all that feel lost and confused. HE WANTS TO HELP ALL COME BACK! The Savior died for each one of us. He gave us the power to be forgiven, return with our father and to have every little ounce of help and blessings that we need in this life. The time is coming close. Elder Nelson made a video just awhile ago. He told us(Members) that we need to do all that we
can to help ourselves be worth to enter the Kingdom of God and to help all those that aren`t on track. I`m giving this Challenge to you also. Try to do all that you can to help those in need. Try to share to gospel with someone every week. Try to help a Less-Active come back. Try to work with the missionaries. Try to help the Lord. The gospel is true. I know it with all my heart.
The Lord needs help hands. Serve him please.
I love you all. Thanks for your love and support.

February 18, 2013- OH NO!!
HOWDY!
Well things are going well. Elder Olalde just got changed and I´m a bit worried about the area. I´ve only had 3 weeks here and don´t know the area very good and half the members!!! HELP!!!
Well, we had a weird 3 week change to allow for all the new missionaries. This is why I will be able to be home 3 weeks early.
Elder Olalde went to Aguascalientes. My new comp is Elder Cuaxi.(Cua-si.) He is from the south of Mexico and is pretty cool. We´ve only had a few hours together so I don´t know lots about him yet.
I´m doing a lot better health wise. Spent a lot of time with the Doctor last week. Big story short, he gave me some new meds and I´m alot better. President del Valle called me yesterday to check that I had given Hermana del Valle the right amount. A grand total of 3,000 pesos for X-rays and test and another 1,100 for meds. I´m glad that the church can help out with that. :)
We just got a call to go visit a member that was just in a accident in the hospital to give her a blessing. Got to run.
Love you all tons!

February 11, 2013- It's a good enough life for me!
Well it has been another great week in the life of Elder Carter. Here´s hoping you all had a good week.
Update on sickness. Still have a pretty good cough and I´m going back to the doctor tomorrow or Wed. I´m feeling alright but still have an awful cough. I´m a bit preoccupied that I´ve had this cough for like a month now and I can´t get rid of it. I´m hoping that the doctor can help me out. But I´m good so don´t stress. Just a little bugged about the cough.
Elder Olalde is amazing. He is a really good missionary and has been a great example to me. He´s super spiritual and he just knows what everyone needs. We´ve been able to help everyone out and it´s been really cool.
We were finishing our planning Friday in the night and I said the closing prayer. I stood up and looked over at E. Olalde and
he had a big smile on his face. He said that we were going to knock a door by one of our appointments and find someone who needed the gospel. I then asked where and he said he didn´t have a clue. It will be one of the houses on the street. I completely forgot about it and we were walking to the appointment and out of the blue he yells "It´s the house!!!" We knocked it and a guy came out and asked what we wanted. We started explaining who we are and he said he knew us. He said that he is a member and has been inactive for quite some time. He went inactive over false info about the church. We asked him if we could talk with him and he said he didn´t want anything to do with us. We bore our testimonies and left. We thought, hey that was cool. We got to find a lessactive and see if we could help him. Too bad that he doesn´t want anything. We got to church Sunday in the morning and guess who was there waiting for us at the door. This less-active brother. He said that after we left he felt bad and that all night he couldn´t sleep and at one in the morning he dug out his Book of Mormon and read for an hour and then was able to sleep. It was a pretty dang cool experience and I´m super grateful to be out here helping people come back to the straight and narrow way.
I´m still loving Celaya. It´s super hot here and everyone is saying that the heat is still coming. They say it´s still cold so just wait for
the heat. I´m a little scared for the "heat" that hasn´t come yet. The members and people here are pretty nice. We´re pretty set here. The ward is great, the area is great, ya everything is great. Found out that there is a Krispy Kreme doughnut here a few blocks from the house. I´m just loving that there are American places here. I had my first glazed doughnut in a year and a few months. It was amazing!!!
Speaking of food I´ve got a story. We got to the Sisters house that had the food yesterday. We sit down at the table and the
sister puts the food on our plates. Elder Olalde just looks at me with despair in his eyes. I was a bit confused thinking it was chicken so I took a better look. MENUDO!!!!! The sister then says she hopes we like eating Pansa(stomach). She then tells us the story of how her Donkey died the other day so they´ve been slowly eating the donkey. So we had Donkey Stomach Tacos. She actually prepared them really well. It tasted really great but the problem with Menudo is the texture. It is just so weird to eat. (Side note for Miranda...I hear Menudo is something you will eat a lot in Chile...have fun with that! ;) ) Elder Olalde didn´t eat more then one taco. He just completly refused. I actually tried to eat it because it tasted so good. After all that trying I only ate 3.
Well I just want to bear you all my testimony that I know this church is true. I know that our savior, Jesus Christ lives. He died for us so that we can be forgiven and have the chance to live with God again. He was then resurrected to give us the power to live again. Our Father in Heaven loves each of us. He is always there for us whenever we need him. We can have every blessing we need. The Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God on the Earth today. We have the Priesthood and the neccesary tools to help us get back to heaven. I know that all of this is true without a doubt.
I love you all and am praying that all goes well for you.
Best Wishes,
Elder Carter

February 4, 2013
Well Hello to everyone. I hope all is going well. I`ve had a pretty dang good week. Celaya is awesome!! Well my new area is HUGE!!! It takes us an hour and a half to walk from the end where the house is to where most of the members and investigators are. We have a big Industrial Zone in the middle so that`s why it`s so big. It`s really nice here. We have some shabby crudy
areas but actually most of the area is pretty high class. We have some really rich members who have already blown a lot of money on us. They buy us all the food we need, give us rides sometimes, two of the Sisters don`t cook anything and have taken us to really nice resturants. One was a Chinese Buffet and it was amazing. I`ve eaten so much food I can`t believe it. I think that I will easily gain my 20 pounds back! Easily! We are further South so there are a lot of big malls, shops, lots of restaurants and fast food joints. We have a Costco like 3 blocks from the house. It`s great. We can buy food and just about everything we
need for super cheap. Bought a membership today and we bought a ton of stuff. I`m going to be super happy here.
The weather is really hot here. I feel like I`m back in San Luis in June. I`ve pulled the sunscreen back out and am taking the sun seriously. It`s weird to not be bundled up at night and during the day. It was a big change.
Elder Olalde is amazing. He only has three months in the mission(Same time as Elder Morales) but is super cool. He loves to work and contact people. He does it so simply and natural. We`ve had a few lessons with people and referred people that he has contacted. Super cool. He is super, super spiritual. He has the best studies in the morning. I`m learning lots from him. He is just a little baby. :) He`s got 18 years of age and is a member of 5 years. He is from Veracruz. He says it`s really pretty there. I`ll have to visit him after the mission.
I am a bit under the weather. I know I mentioned it to my mom but don`t know about you guys. About three weeks ago I had a cold that turned into a bad cough. Went to the doctor and got meds. Never got better. I just left it but in Zone Conference on Friday Hermana del Valle chewed me out good and actually took me to the doctor afterwords. Turns out I`ve got Bronchitis. It`s kinda bad so I`m asking that you keep me in your prayers please. I`ve got some super heavy medicines and a special inhaler(? puffer thingy that people with Asthma use...don`t remember how to spell it). I should be fine. Have a check up appointment in a week and things are good, just keep me in your thoughts please.
Well ,ya that`s about it. Things are good right now and I`m loving life. All is well!
Brendon-Sorry it took so long to write back. I`ll send you a good letter next week. I expect the same. Jacob Johnson-Send me something!!! Anything you little bum! :)
Well Best of wishes to everyone!

areas but actually most of the area is pretty high class.

Well I think the Subject line says it all.
Love, Elder Carter
Haha just kidding. Well, the week went by well. We set a date for baptism with Sergio so I hope that goes well and that Elder Morales can help him.
Well I got changed today. I was on the bus for 7 hours to get to my new area. All the movies were horrible. I was really bored and stir crazy. I just got to my new area about and hour and 30 mins ago. I´m in Celaya. If you go on Google maps it´s basically south of San Luis Potosi, and just west of Santiago de Queretaro. So far it seems like a nice place. My new comp is Elder Olalde(Oh-Al-Dee). He seems pretty cool too. Elder Morales is there in Matehuala still with Elder Valladolid. They are working both areas of
our Branch so now there is only 6 elders again. Elder Rivero is in San Luis. I´m super excited for the new change and area and am going to give it my all. Oh...I´m the District leader here too.
Some of you heard that I was robbed last week. Guess I didn´t give enough details. Everything is ok. The guy had a knife but was scared out of his mind and almost dropped it once. If it wasn´t for the training we just had I probably would have just ignored him. We weren´t harmed, lost a little money and my camera but nothing else. We both just laughed afterwards and called the others to share the story. We aren't truamatized, scared or anything else. All is well. Prayers are always welcome though. :)
Sorry it´s little with little detail but I got here really late. We should be working right now so that´s why it´s so little. Hope all is well with all and that all you in Utah are safe and sound with all that horrible weather.
Love ya all,
Elder Carter
